Qualified Legal Representatives Appointed by the Court

A new Practice Direction (PD 3AB) now governs the practice and procedure in relation to the prohibition of a particular party from cross examination of a witness (usually in domestic abuse cases) and the Ministry of Justice has published statutory guidance on the role of qualified legal representatives whom the court will appoint to conduct such cross-examination. This course will therefore provide an overview of PD 3AB and the statutory guidance relating to a qualified legal representative (QLR) being appointed by the court.
