Prostate Scotland

Prostate Scotland

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in Scotland and recent NHS projections suggest that the incidence is set to grow over the next ten years. Prostate Scotland is Scotland’s prostate disease charity. We were established in 2006 as a registered charity (No. SC037494) to increase awareness, information and improve education, support and provision for prostate issues. We provide:

  • Information materials for men and their families about prostate cancer and prostate disease and its treatments;
  • An award- winning website www.prostatescotland.org.uk providing a range of information for men and their families about prostate cancer and prostate disease, including video interviews with men with prostate disease about their choice of treatment, as well as from leading clinicians about symptoms and treatments;
  • Awareness materials about prostate disease and its symptoms;

With prostate cancer set to increase over the next ten years there is much more to be done in informing, supporting and advancing on prostate disease in Scotland and we are working to encourage greater early diagnosis, as this can often lead to successful treatment. We are working to:

  • Develop our awareness and information work to help ensure that every man in Scotland has access to information about prostate disease
  • Enable the provision of the most up-to-date and effective equipment to treat prostate disease and to support research into future treatments
