Greek Animal Welfare Fund

Greek Animal Welfare Fund

As a UK based charity operating in Greece since 1959, GAWF’s core purpose is the prevention and relief of cruelty and suffering amongst animals. We believe in working within Greece to find practical and sustainable solutions to animal welfare problems, and our track record speaks for itself. We are proud of what we have achieved over 60 years as the longest serving animal charity operating in Greece at a national level, but there is still a long way to go in encouraging changes in attitudes at every level of Greek society. That is why our mission is to use the way we care for animals to educate and inspire, through programmes of veterinary treatment, education and training, lobbying decision makers, and public awareness campaigns. None of our work would have been possible without the generous donations and legacy gifts of our supporters. The trustees of GAWF aim to ensure that every penny we receive is spent wisely and effectively to ensure sustainable change and improvement in the lives of animals in Greece..
