Advising families across generations

STEP is the global professional association for practitioners who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning. We work to improve public understanding of the issues families face in this area and promote education and high professional standards among our members.

STEP members help families plan for their futures, from drafting a will to advising on issues concerning international families, protection of the vulnerable, family businesses and philanthropic giving. Full STEP members, known as TEPs, are internationally recognised as experts in their field, with proven qualifications and experience.

All STEP courses are open for enrolment with delivery adjusted to ensure continuity of access to learning during the COVID 19 crisis. For courses not previously delivered online, teaching will be delivered through online classrooms and examinations via online assessment.

STEP Journal

Welcome to Issue 2 of the STEP Journal. The cover feature takes us through the intriguing history of the England and Wales Court of Protection and how it has evolved over the years. This issue has a regional focus on the Caribbean and Latin America, covering Colombia's new tax reforms, important changes to Belize's economic substance legislation and new laws in the Cayman Islands to assist in estate planning and healthcare decisions.

Special Interest Groups

STEP Special Interest Groups (SIGs) provide the opportunity for practitioners and related professionals to connect and advance their focused area of practice. They aim to benefit the practitioner, their area of specialisation, the clients they serve, and the industry at large. Professionals who are not STEP members are welcome to join SIGs.
