Help give a child in the East Midlands a happier and brighter Christmas, by joining our Toy Appeal!

Christmas is a magical time for many of us, as we are able to spend time with family and spoil our loved ones. However, every year there are thousands of families who simply do not have the resources or stability to enjoy Christmas in the way so many of us are.

This year, as in the previous 35 years, Faith in Families is organising a Christmas Appeal to collect toys, gifts and food for vulnerable children and their families across the East Midlands. The Appeal is continuing to grow year on year, allowing more and more children to receive a donated gift this Christmas.

“We received so many presents for both of my sons and a gift voucher too. To be honest it brought tears to my eyes and I really appreciate your kindness and support.” Glover Family – Christmas Appeal, 2018

Faith in Families, who recently celebrated their 70th anniversary, are an independent adoption agency & children’s charity and adoption agency working across the East Midlands. The charity trains and supports prospective adopters to parent the some of the most abused and traumatised children and links these children with their forever family. Nationally, nearly 4,000 children are currently waiting for a new family. Faith in Families also provides a unique School Social Work Service, working with the most vulnerable children in schools and communities across the East Midlands, last year supporting 4,774 children.

“I was so distressed because of my situation as both my wife & I am not allowed to work as we are asylum seekers. This Christmas was my younger child's 1st Christmas and I was more upset, as I thought that I won't be able to buy any present for him as I'm struggling with other expenses as well.” Abiloula Family, Christmas Appeal 2018.

Every year, Faith in Families asks people across the East Midlands to donate brand new toys, games, books, stationery sets, toiletries, gift tokens, baby clothes, hats, scarves and gloves to their Christmas Appeal. They also require food items including tinned goods, chocolate boxes, Christmas foods and other non-perishables. The team at Faith in Families then work hard to pack all gifts into beautiful hampers and Christmas presents that are distributed to families across the East Midlands.

The demand is higher than ever this Christmas. . As you can imagine, service users are often going through extremely difficult times and periods of celebration can be particularly hard and alienating, especially for parents who are unable to get their children any gifts at all which is why donations really do help to make such a difference.

“I cannot thank you enough for your help! You are nothing less than a blessing from God. We’d love to express our gratitude for your generous gift you have no idea how much it has helped me and my kids. We are so grateful for your support. Magnificent! You're a life saver. A BIG thank you with lots of love!” Olayemi family - Christmas Appeal, 2018.

The families have been nominated through the charities work in schools and communities and are chosen because of a variety of very challenging circumstances. They are families, who will find Christmas a very difficult and stressful time, and some of these children are unlikely to receive a present unless charities like Faith in Families provide help at this time of year. Faith in Families wants your support so they can help children and families at Christmas and throughout the year. You can help change lives by donating to the Appeal.

The Toy Appeal will provide you with an amazing opportunity to give back within your local community!

“The event was well put together and executed, and the traffic of potential customers for us was high. We had a number of enquiries regarding our services after the event and we feel our attendance there was important to our overall brand exposure. We feel a Law event of this size without Euromoney Legal Training present could potentially be hurtful to us as a business. We would recommend you to attend and shall ourselves be there again in 2008.”
